10 years, remembering

That ten years have passed, I feel conflicted as to if it feels like a long time or a short time since Flora was present here with us. I am comforted that she is with the Lord and that she is not witnessing the madness that has befallen our country over this past decade. We welcome the encouragement and reminder she always gave to strengthen in the Lord and have courage, reiterating what the Word says frequently in "do not fear." We hope that you also can find comfort in remembering Flora and others in your own life experience that though have passed before us, still yet strengthen us today.

Beverly McKee, Flora's Mother-In-Law

Flora's Mother-In-Law, Beverly McKee passed away this past week, with her graveside funeral being held on January 7th. A nice, pleasant gathering, we were reminded that Beverly was born into the world a sinner, but left the world with her Savior. Beverly and Flora had a good relationship and I'm certain they are happy to see each other once again. Beverly exhibited a strong desire to evangelize and would regularly remind us that she was praying for us.

She will be missed, for awhile, until we can be with her again.

I am still getting reports occasionally that Flora's story is being passed on, and lending inspiration. We pray that continues. If you need a copy of Flora's Story, feel free to contact any of the family, and a PDF can be emailed to you to print. Additionally, Mark usually has some printed copies at Parsons Livestock Market.

From Peggy W:

You have to hear what happened at the store today. Mark called the store saying that someone was coming in to pick up the book "One Minute After you Die" (he had recently lost his wife, too). Mark was warned that we were out of the book,  but the gentleman came in anyway to see if we had something else that might help. When he walked in the door, she glanced at the bookshelves as she was about to say "sorry, we're out of the book" when she saw the book on the shelf! She said it was like the book was glowing. We both felt it was like Flora was at work at the store again! I had her call Mark and tell him what happened. I think it made his day. I know it sure made ours!

Leaving a couple of copies of Flora's Story in my company's break-room at work has brought opportunity for others who didn't know Flora at all, to be impacted by her experience. I've had at least a few mention that they picked up and read through it. I don't know how many read but didn't comment.

Share your experiences. Experience, is hard to argue with.

Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted

Flora's story has reached Arizona! A special person was able to hand over a copy of it to a woman met while traveling, who is in distress over the loss of her son. The woman struggling with her own loss was touched by Flora's story as well as the person being willing to give of her own time and caring to a stranger that could use some.

These kind of stories are so inspiring and we hope to hear more and share them here. Sharing Flora's story isn't the Gospel, but it could be a precursor to sharing the Gospel, or getting someone to consider the Gospel. Going up to someone and shoving a Bible in his or her face and confronting about the Gospel doesn't always end up well, but sharing a story like Flora's (and it can be other things in your own life as well) can help to direct someone to wanting to hear more about this Jesus, that compelled people like Flora.

The Mustard Seed

Peggy at the Mustard Seed Christian Bookstore has reported that many have come by the store to ask for a copy of Flora's story which is great! We're so glad that those last few weeks of her life continues to be inspiring and exciting to read about. Hopefully many will not stop at reading HER story, but also read the most important story of her life, that of course being the Gospel, the story of Jesus.

Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory 1 Timothy 3.16
